Terms of Use (Participants)

Applicable between WEPRENEURS and event participants (“You”).

1. Introduction and Scope of Service

When you register for an event on the WEpreneurs platform, you agree to the Terms of Use described here. If the event organizer provides additional terms and conditions, you agree to those as well. If you do not agree to these terms, you may choose not to register for or participate in events on this platform.

WEpreneurs provides the technical infrastructure and matchmaking software for the platform. To use its interactive features, you will need to create a user profile. These features include submitting requests, viewing other participants' profiles and requests, and engaging in networking or messaging.

During the registration process, personal data will be collected and processed as described in the sections below.

2. Data Protection and Privacy

Your personal data will be processed solely to deliver the services described in these Terms and in line with our Privacy Policy. Please review the Privacy Policy for details on what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under GDPR and PDPA.

You acknowledge that WEpreneurs may process the data you provide, as well as usage data, in aggregated and anonymized form ("Aggregate Data"). This data does not identify individuals and is used only for internal analytics, service improvements, or industry insight generation.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent re-identification, in compliance with applicable laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Taiwan’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

Unless required by law or strictly necessary to deliver the services, WEpreneurs will not share your personally identifiable information without your explicit consent.

2.1 Visibility of Participant Profiles

All WEpreneurs events are private. Only users with a valid event access code from the organizer can enter an event session.

Once inside, validated participants may view other participants' profiles and requests to support networking and matchmaking. Contact details such as email addresses and phone numbers are not displayed by default.

If you have questions about data visibility, please contact the event organizer or WEpreneurs.

2.2 Data Retention and Deletion

We store your business matchmaking records — including your submitted requests, resources received or offered, and follow-up status — to help you manage interactions and track progress. These records and your profile are retained while your account remains active.

You may view, update, or delete your records at any time. You may also delete your account, which will result in the permanent and irreversible deletion of all associated data and your profile.

While your profile and all associated data will be permanently deleted upon request, we retain a log of your deletion time for auditing purposes, as outlined in our Privacy Policy.

2.3 Data Accuracy and Editing

You are responsible for providing accurate data during registration. Your submitted information must not violate any applicable laws or infringe upon the rights of others. You may edit or update your profile data at any time through your user account.

3. Your Responsibilities

You agree to use the platform only in accordance with these Terms and all applicable laws. You are solely responsible for any content you publish on the website or platform.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WEpreneurs and the event organizer against any loss, damages, or liabilities — including legal, administrative, or technical costs — resulting from misuse or violation of these Terms.

4. Participant’s profiles

Participant profiles are created and maintained by participants themselves. WEpreneurs is not obligated to review or verify submitted content. If you violate these Terms or applicable laws, WEpreneurs may temporarily or permanently restrict your access and remove any unlawful content.

You are responsible for protecting your account and preventing unauthorized access. All content you publish must comply with legal, ethical, and community standards.

5. Copyright

The WEpreneurs platform and its content — including images, graphics, documents, and other media — may be protected under copyright law. You may not edit, copy, or publish such content without written permission from WEpreneurs or the original copyright owner.

By submitting content to the platform, you grant WEpreneurs and the event organizer a non-revocable right to use it for the purposes outlined in these Terms. You remain responsible for ensuring your content does not violate third-party rights and agree to indemnify WEpreneurs and the organizer against any related claims.

6. Technical Information

6.1 Data Security

WEpreneurs implements appropriate technical security measures, including firewalls and daily backups, to protect your data. While we take all reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee complete protection from data loss and assume no liability in such cases.

6.2 Service Availability

WEpreneurs does not guarantee uninterrupted access to the platform or cloud services. We are not liable for any service disruptions, system defects, or losses resulting from platform unavailability or incorrect information.

7. Limitations of Liability

WEpreneurs does not endorse or verify the content submitted by users or participants. We are not responsible for the accuracy or quality of any material or for the outcome of any event.

To the extent permitted by law, WEpreneurs disclaims liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the platform or event participation — including service interruption, lost profits, lost opportunities, or data loss — even if we have been advised of such possibilities.

8. Breach of Terms

If you breach these Terms, WEpreneurs reserves the right to delete your account, content, and related data without prior notice.

9. Changes to Terms

WEpreneurs may modify these Terms from time to time at its discretion. Users will be notified in advance of significant changes through the platform or website. Changes will only take effect once accepted during your next login.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan. The exclusive place of jurisdiction for any dispute shall be Taipei, Taiwan.
